For 30 years, I’ve been a part of Major League Baseball as a player, a scout, and a coach. Throughout my career, I’ve carried a camera and captured cities and people, ballparks and players, family and friends. Those photos rekindle faded memories and emotions from three decades of life, and reconnect deep-rooted relationships from long ago.

It’s one thing to see an image on a screen, but it’s a totally different experience to hold a photograph in my hands or flip through an album. The endless scroll of snapshots and videos on social media has made us forget what it’s like to feel a real photograph in our fingers. Most of the time it’s the face of a loved one, and I’ve found that just slowing down and spending some time with that image strengthens my bond with them.

Now, I want to capture and share the innocence and joy of youth baseball with parents in a way that their iPhones can’t: through the eye of a seasoned veteran of the game. These moments of our lives slip by quickly and quietly. Let’s capture some of the special ones to hold in our hands…
